The Story

About 21 Seeds Valencia Orange Blanco Tequila

Kat Hantas started infusing tequila in her own kitchen with ingredients from her pantry: cucumbers, jalapeño peppers, and various citrus fruits. Her goal was to create something smooth, simple, and easy to drink that she could share with her friends. After her creations became a hit at parties, she teamed up with her sister Nicole and their friend Sarika. 21 Seeds was born. They partnered with Casa Maestri, who craft the Blanco tequila that serves as the base for 21 Seeds Valencia Orange Blanco Tequila. The flavored tequila starts with a Blanco that's double-distilled from agaves, grown in Jalisco, Mexico. Then, the spirit is infused with the juice of real oranges, making for a super-citrusy expression that works particularly well in a Margarita or with club soda.

Created by Kat together with her sister Nicole and friend Sarika, 21 SEEDS is a brand of smooth tequilas, infused with ripe hand-picked fruits and made with natural flavors like cucumber, oranges, grapefruit, and jalapenos. What started as a passion project, became a partnership with a women-owned and staffed Mexican distillery.

About Tequila

Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.

This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.

Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.

Tasting Notes

The nose is sweet and citrusy with orange taking the spotlight. The orange shines on the bright palate as well, where it's joined by subtle hints of herbs and vanilla. The finish is smooth and citrusy.
