The Nantou Distillery is situated in Nantou Hsien, Taiwan. Owned by The Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation, they produce Omar whiskies, one of the two biggest spirit brands in Taiwan next to Kavalan. The first spirit dripped from the stills in 2008
Distilled through one of the facility’s four pot stills manufactured by Forsyths of Rothes in Speyside, and crafted from imported malted barley from Scotland, Nantou only produces whisky between October and April when the temperatures is cooler. Aged in ex-bourbon casks, this Taiwanese whisky is a medium bodied with a viscose texture and notes of vanilla and citrus.
