This new release from The Glenlivet pays homage to the distillery’s founder, George Smith.
Pale gold color with bright notes of blood orange and burnt sugar on the nose. The palate transitions to flavors of pear, rock candy and caramel apples before finishing with notes of toffee, peanuts and honey.
Following distillation, this whisky is matured in a mixture of cask types, including American Oak and European Oak. In particular, the American Oak lends the whisky its vanilla character and distinct smoothness, and was called “one of Speyside’s definitive malts” by Paul Pacult.
Aromas of honeysuckle and summertime fruits, along with notes of fresh pineapple and bitter cocoa on the palate. Rich, creamy finish filled with lasting touches of hazelnuts and marzipan.
Matured in French Limousin Oak for a limited time, this spicy single malt earned Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in both 2011 and 2012.
Intense golden color and aromas of butter, caramel and whipped cream. On the palate, the whisky is slightly fruity, with notes of baked apples and cinnamon spice leading to a finish accented by almonds, nutmeg and pie crust.
The Glenlivet Master Distiller Alan Winchester uses a variety of casks - both first- and second-fill - to age this whisky which won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2015.
Apricot-hued appearance, along with an aroma of dried fruits - particularly mangoes - and toffee. Palate is wonderfully balanced, with notes of ripe oranges, raisins and ginger, and leads to a phenomenal finish marked by butterscotch candy and lemon squares.
Aged for a minimum of 21 years, this whisky earned a score of 96-100 points from Wine Enthusiast.
Rich, luxurious aroma of pine, raisins and sandalwood. Notes of brown sugar, walnuts and honey on the palate, that are well-complemented by notes of dried fruits, Christmas cake and baking spices. Finish is long and sweet, with a hint of chewy leather, ginger and oak.
Aged for 25 years, this whisky earned a score of 95 points from the Beverage Testing Institute.
Aroma of ripe fruits, dark chocolate and creamy vanilla. Hints of raisins, dates and figs on the palate, which complement notes of walnuts, brown sugar and cinnamon. Finish is long and opulent, with notes of sherry, red fruits and spices mingled together.
